The Minapild Study Project : New tools to identify causes and prevent Interstitial Lung Diseases

The group of interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) includes over 200 non-infectious conditions, more than 65% being categorized as idiopathic (1). Those diseases are sometimes associated to an exposure to inorganic dusts, which accumulate in the lungs causing inflammation, granulomatosis, fibrosis and eventually cancer. Those ILDs include among others: sarcoidosis, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and infiltrative pneumonia associated with connective tissue diseases.
